As a garment it worked well in terms of shape but not fit, as it wasn't fitted enough around the waist area leaving gaps in the lower back. I wouldn't say this is fashionable, as it looks more like costume wear, however i do like the shape and will try this shape again in next dress,. I used a zip opening, on the back. Problems encountered were that the peter pan collar flared up on one side, giving it an uneven look. Next time i will try same shape, but try cutting it on a bias so i get more flow, ill also try a different zip style and dart manipulation.
The fabric was bright red Cotton, i dyed it a burlesque red. I used 2metres, the cost was £5.80 a metre and was bought from a shop outside of London.
